Corn Festival 2013

Corn is a national symbol in Latin America and a symbol of cultural identity and food sovereignty. With the onslaught of GMO corn, one of 4 GMO crops now grown in Canada, we are losing traditional varieties of corn at an alarming rate. Take action and ask your grocer if your corn is GMO. Just don’t buy it.

And corn is also great tasting so join us in this very lively and tasty celebration of corn. The Corn Festival is presented by the Canadian El Salvador Action Network and hosted by Britannia Community Centre and the Grandview Woodland Food Connection, this festival invites all community members to experience the many corn foods of Latin America along with dance, music and other cultural presentations.
